Our group of technologists have been in the big data business for over a decade, and we've seen some things. Things like Hadoop, NoSQL and the cloud. We've seen the rise of Map Reduce, the fall of RDBMS, and the emergence of unstructured data. We've been to conferences (and built one of our own!) and have seen the buzzwords fly.

Interesting visual because it breaks the big data ecosystem into layers instead of treating it like a single platform. Looking at the stack, I kept wondering whether the bigger challenge today is no longer storing or processing data but making all these pieces work together without adding complexity. It feels like enterprise data services have become more important as ecosystems keep expanding. Curious how you think this architecture would change if it were recreated today.
