Do you encrypt your data?

From an independent Oracle user group security survey in 2011:

  • Less than 30% encrypt personally identifiable information in all databases.
  • 75% do not encrypt database traffic.
  • Only 22% encrypt database backup files.

Its highly important and necessary to encrypt your data to safeguard it from unauthorized access. A variety of tools and application are available for this purpose. I always use digital signature to secure all the files and documents.
